Middleware Sunday at UKOUG 2012

with one comment

Some time ago Simon Haslam and I though of this wild idea to set up a middleware sunday on UKOUG 2012. With the conference coming close it turned out we were actually given the opportunity to set up the afternoon. Many thanks to Jürgen Kress of Oracle OPN middleware community that sponsored the venue for us. In my opinion the sunday sessions were a big success, Chris Muir tweeted that nobody left early (which apparently is a good sign 🙂 ).

The middleware session had lots technical content about WebLogic, but more importantly lots of discussion amongst delegates and presenters about architecture and real life problems we all run into while configuring WebLogic. Our megacluster setup turned out to be a mini cluster, mainly caused by issues on Linux and the network setup but it sure was fun.

All in all I was really happy with the attendance and the way everyone was joining discussions. I would like to thank all that helped making middleware sunday possible: Rene, Frank, Jürgen, the UKOUG staff and all attendants to the event.
